January 2011

We had a great start to 2011. Here is a little snippet of our month...

Evelyn and Josie received a Christmas package from Jill and have thoroughly enjoyed the umbrellas. After a few days of umbrella fits because it would not go up or down and a few near eye pokings, we now keep the umbrellas in the car. I don't think a week goes by that the girls do not ask if they need them when we are getting out of the car. And when it mists even just a bit - we get out our umbrellas. We love them! Thanks Jill.

We celebrated Daddy's birthday with his favorite - chocolate chocolate chip muffins.

And Evelyn shared in the celebration because her Daddy's birthday is also her Baptismal birthday. The family sang Happy Baptism to you and she loved it.

We played at the park with our friends.

Isabelle and Maci

Mary Kate

Josie and Lane (the farmer)

Isabelle loves the swing!

My pantry grew fingers and toes...it does this a lot.

Isabelle loves to watch her sisters play outside...she is getting so big.

And Kevin traveled a lot so we girls held each other. I came out of Isabelle's room after putting her to sleep one night and this is how I found them watching their movie. Josie looks happy but I'm not sure what Evelyn thinks of this.

Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush

Here we go 'round the mulberry bush,
The mulberry bush, the mulberry bush.
Here we go 'round the mulberry bush,
So early in the morning.

This is the way we wash our clothes,
We wash our clothes, we wash our clothes.
This is the way we wash our clothes,
So early Monday morning.

And it goes on to say, This is the way...

we iron our clothes, so early Tuesday morning.

we scrub the floor, so early Wednesday morning.

we mend our clothes, So early Thursday morning.

we sweep the house, So early Friday morning.

we bake our bread, So early Saturday morning.

we go to church, So early Sunday morning.

As we listened to this song on the way home today in the car, I told the girls, we wash our clothes on Monday...maybe this song is about us. So, here is what we decided:

Monday - Wash our clothes - like I said, we do this typically on Monday so, yes, check check.

Tuesday - we rarely iron so I guess Tuesday is a free day.

Wednesday - definitely scrub our floors - with 3 kids, this needs to happen often.

Thursday - On this part, Josie says, "We don't have a mender." And she is right...we don't. :) So, I guess its another free day.

Friday - sweep the floors - yes, see the comment from Wednesday.

Saturday - bake our bread...wouldn't that be awesome if we baked bread every Saturday? Of course, Kevin and I may put on an extra 30 pounds or so.

Sunday - go to church - of course!

And around the mulberry bush we go...

Cousin Time

Lane and Maci came over this morning. I love it when we have cousin time. I especially love all of the cute conversations you get to overhear. Here is a snippet of my morning...

As they hold the music player that has different types of music on it, Lane says, "Josie, you want music or you want rock and roll?"

As we were deciding which movie to watch, Josie wanted 'Lets go to School', Lane wanted 'ABC movie'. So I decided to poll the little girls to see if they could break the tie. I asked Evelyn which movie do you want? She says, "ABC movie." "And Maci, which movie do you want?" Maci replies, "Strawberry Shortcake!" Hmmm, we don't have that one. :)

As we are making cookies, Josie and Lane shared their chair to stand and help. Josie says, "Lane, I like sharing my chair with you. It is my favorite thing." Ahhh, what love! What innocent love.

A new cousin

The Wagner Family grew this past week. Kevin's sister, Kristie, and her husband, Mike, as well as big sister and big brother welcomed sweet little Kaitlyn Jenae very, very early Friday morning. Isn't she a doll???

This ones for you Aunt Jessica

Josie had me tie her scarf so that she could carry her baby in her sling. And then she said, "look, I'm like Aunt Jessica." :)
